Sister Cities working together:

Bloomington, Indiana and Posoltega, Nicaragua

Posoltega, Nicaragua

Posoltega, Nicaragua

Looking to the future, promoting peace!
We want to provide the opportunity for people of all ages to experience the cultural exchange between our two cities through:

  • Delegation trips to Posoltega
  • Educational presentations for your group
  • School to school connections

Our Sister City relationship began over 30 years ago, in 1988. Since then, many people of all ages have traveled from Bloomington to Posoltega.

Bloomington has been able to help Posoltega in terms of health and education projects, while those in Posoltega have helped us by sharing their homes, culture, and hopes for the future. The mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation between our two cities is stimulating for all involved.

The people of Posoltega are truly rich in spirit. Through their example of dedication and bravery, they have taught us much. This was especially true after the devastating mudslide caused by Hurricane Mitch in October, 1998.
